It has been 15 years since Tanya Linney appeared on the cover of Dolly magazine, but some things never change. “What I love about Tanya is that every shoot is like the first,” says Tonic’s Carlotta Moye, who shot this story and worked closely with Tanya as Dolly’s fashion editor. “Tanya gives it her all, every single time.”
Now an artist and mother to a 12-year-old daughter, Tanya relished getting back in front of the camera. “I mostly paint in denim, T-shirt and sneakers, so it’s nice to occasionally get dressed up again,” she says.
And her favourite Dolly memory? That would be a shoot in the Bahamas with a team including fellow model Erica Baxter. “Some of us learnt how to drive a car, some of us made some rookie errors with fake tan first attempts,” she laughs.

“In my art, I like to think about the relationships between human vs machine or the relationship between canvas vs frame, photography vs painting, material vs spiritual.”
