This Beauty Brand Could Change Your Life
Not even a lockdown can steal the joy of Charlotte Tilbury make-up and skincare finally arriving in Australia this month.
While many of us won’t be able to head to Mecca stores to gasp, touch and play right now, eventually we will, and that’s something to look forward to. Why? Because the famed British make-up artist’s products will create a glowy, dewy, more glamorous – yet still natural-looking – version of you. They truly live up to the hype.
CT (pictured above) is renowned as the Queen of Glow, and has an MBE awarded by the actual Queen to prove it. While other make-up brands tend to shy away from talking to the 45-plus market, she embraces it. Take a look at her jaw-dropping, youth-boosting transformations on YouTube and you’ll hand over your credit card, stat.
Her message is that women should be wearing make-up more strategically – not less – as we age, which is why her collection is genius. It’s luxurious, effortless make-up plus an essential (not overwhelming) skincare collection.
While she may no longer own the entire company she launched in 2013 (she sold a majority stake for a rumoured $1 billion to Spanish fashion and fragrance company Puig last year), she remains chairman, president and CCO, thank goodness.
While I have many favourite products, these are the standouts.
What: Light Wonder, $65
Why: An everyday tinted skin perfecter that gives the coverage I need without it feeling like foundation. Its glowy, dewy finish does not sit in your wrinkles and I could not live without it.
What: Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes, $48
Why: It’s a smudge-proof, sweat-proof mascara with a brush that captures each and every individual little lash so it looks like you have more of them. Its lightweight formula means you won’t lose the curling action, which often happens with volume mascaras on older and thinner lashes. A perfect mix of natural and dramatic.
What: Charlotte’s Magic Cream, $125 (100ml)
Why: It creates the most beautiful “lit from within” skin canvas before you even start with the make-up, thanks to the potent moisturising properties of glycerin, shea butter, hyaluronic acid and rosehip oil. The winner of a dozen different beauty awards, this delicately-floral-scented skin-plumper is housed in a beautiful luxe pot that’s, thankfully, refillable.
What: Magic Away Concealer, $49
Why: Because it’s creamy enough to do a stellar job of disguising sleepless nights and age spots while not sliding off during the day. It also has a cleverly-shaped sponge applicator. Just one tap gets right into that tiny spot between the bridge of your nose and eye.
What: Luxury Palette (in Pillow Talk), $80
Why: Wearable, universally flattering nude-pink shades for everyday prettiness, or take it up a notch by adding a pop of shimmer just in the corner to open up your eyes.
What: K. I. S. S. I. N. G (in Nude Romance), $57
Why: Her lipsticks are divine, too. Expect a moisturising, waxy formula that’s so very comfortable to wear but doesn’t bleed outside your lip line. This peachy nude shade is perfection.
