5 Fresh Scents For Spring

Whether you’re coming out of lockdown or just looking forward to the end of a difficult year, it’s time to have some fun. Treat yourself to a refresh with one of these boutique fragrances.

Nature Insolente, Maison Matine | 50ml $99, eau de parfum, saison.com.au

There are lots of reasons to love French unisex brand Maison Matine, from the quirky graphics on the bottle to the approachable price point. They are also plastic-free, using recycled cardboard packaging and caps made of recycled cork and rubber. Nature Insolente is a summery citrus blend of orange, lemon and bergamot spiked with mint, honey melon and lily of the valley. A base of vetiver, cedar and musk softens and anchors the scent.

Lys Sølaberg, Maison Crivelli | $149, 30ml, libertineparfumerie.com.au

Summer isn’t always about sunshine and sandy beaches. This subtle Maison Crivelli fragrance takes inspiration from the mild, short-lived summers of Scandinavia, with spicy, peaty notes softening the lily at the heart of the fragrance. It’s hard to categorise this one – it’s a little amber, a little woody, a little floral, but a whole lotta fabulous.

Figfever, Hermetica | $299, 100ml eau de parfum, hermetica.com

There’s no slow reveal with Hermetica perfumes. Thanks to the molecular technology used to make their alcohol-free fragrances, all the notes in their perfumes appear instantly, rather than developing slowly as most fragrances do. They have serious staying power, too, lingering longer on your skin than any fragrance you have ever used. Their new Figfever, built around fig notes teamed with blackcurrant, is an invigorating woody fragrance.

Continental, CRA-YON | $132, 50ml eau de parfum, saison.com.au

Be enveloped in a fresh burst of bright tropical notes – Brazilian orange, Indian mint, ylang from Madagascar among them – with this new fragrance from Swedish parfumeur, CRA-YON. We love CRA-YON’s vegan fragrances for their focus on sustainability, their simple but striking bottles, and of course what’s inside. Continental celebrates our collective longing for travel, bringing together ingredients from across the globe, with coriander from Russia and lemongrass from Guatemala over a woody base.

Damask, Ormonde Jayne | $249, 50ml eau de parfum, libertineparfumerie.com.au

Picture an illicit meeting in an Arabian pleasure garden at midnight and you have something of the flavour of this seductive perfume from London-based Ormonde Jayne. Part of its La Route De Soie collection, Damask has a heart of rose and jasmine given depth by musk, vetiver and mineral amber. Top notes of blackcurrant, lemon and pear add lightness to this velvety fragrance.
